Biosciences Video
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Challenge: The Space Biosciences Division at NASA Ames Research Center wanted to inform the scientific community and public about the important research it was doing.
Solution: The Collaborative was chosen to produce a 5-minute video to tell the story of what happens when humans bring life into space. The video shows how NASA conducts ground and spaceflight experiments, develops advanced research platforms for the International Space Station, examines ways in which space affects living organisms, presents technologies being developed to sustain life in space, and explores how bioengineered organisms enable human spaceflight by providing essential resources such as food, clean air and water, and biofuels.
Results: Since its release, the video has reached a broad audience via the internet, helping to increase awareness of NASA’s work in the field of biosciences.
