South Capitol Street Corridor
Washington, DC
Design of the gateway corridor and parkland associated with the new South Capitol Street Bridge over the Anacostia River. Consisting of circulation ovals, multi-use trails, waterfront promenades, enhanced habitat areas, and bio-stormwater retention, the project functions as an open space monument to Frederick Douglass, punctuated by the multi-arch bridge structure, the first of its kind in D.C. The design-build project is currently under construction. (Ignacio performed this work with a previous firm.)
